Closure of Central Hall, Parliament House


        Members are informed that CPWD will undertake the work ofreplacement of carpet in Central Hall and MP’s reading  room, ParliamentHouse during  the period from 27.05.2017to 30.06.2017.  During this period,Central Hall, Parliament House will remain closed.

Arrest and Release of Shri Praful Patel, Member, Rajya Sabha




The followingcommunication, dated the 22ndMay, 2017,  addressed to the Chairman,Rajya Sabha, has been received from the Office of the Superintendent of Police,Bhandara, Maharashtra:-  


“I have the honour to inform you that I have found it my duty in theexercise of my power, Shri Praful Patel, M.P., Rajya Sabha xxx was detained on 22/05/2017 at 1605 hrs. under section 69of Maharashtra Police Act 1951, at Trimurti Chowk, in front of Collectorate,Bhandara, during protest in issue of Dharna Agitation organized by N.C.P.against State/Central Government policies. He has been released immediately on same day i.e. 22/05/2017 at1645 hrs. under section 69 of Maharashtra Police Act 1951."

Presentation of Thirty-fifth Report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers


Members are informed that Shri Anandrao Adsul, Chairperson,Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemicals andFertilizers presented the Thirty-fifth Reportof the Committee on the subject 'Revival of Sick PSUs in Chemicals andPetrochemicals Sector (Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals)' to theHon'ble Speaker on 19.05.2017 under Direction 71A (1) of the Directions by theSpeaker, Lok Sabha.

2.     Hon'bleSpeaker, Lok Sabha, has also permitted printing, publication and circulation ofthe above mentioned Report, under Rule 280 of the Rules of Procedure andConduct of Business in Lok Sabha. Authenticated copies of the said Reports were received on the 23rdMay, 2017 from the Lok Sabha Secretariat for information of Hon'ble Chairman,Rajya Sabha.
